Affiliate disclosure
No commercial links are live on this site today. This page states the rules we hold ourselves to before any are enabled, so the standard is set in advance rather than written afterwards.
What an affiliate link is
Some outbound links may earn us a commission if you buy something after following them. The price you pay is not increased by that commission — it is paid by the seller out of their own margin.
Where disclosure appears
When commercial links go live, a disclosure will sit beside the link itself, visible before you click and without expanding anything, on every surface carrying one. A note buried in a footer or hidden on a page like this one is not sufficient disclosure, and we do not treat it as such.
This follows the United States Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), which require disclosures to be clear, conspicuous, and unavoidable, and guidance from Canada's Competition Bureau, which is explicit that an affiliate link on its own does not constitute disclosure.
Commissions never decide what we publish
Whether an event or product earns us anything has no bearing on whether it is listed, approved, or ranked. Curation decisions are made on merit, and a commercial relationship cannot buy a listing or a better position. If we ever cannot honestly recommend something, we do not list it, regardless of what it pays.
Clicks are not sales
We count outbound clicks as clicks. A commission is only real once the provider confirms it. We do not present click counts as sales or revenue, internally or publicly.
Providers, and what they have approved
We treat technical access and permission as different things. Being able to reach an API, read structured data, or crawl a page is not permission to republish, index, store, or monetise it. Each provider integration stays switched off until that provider has approved, in writing, the specific things we intend to do.
- Ticket providers — no automated ingestion or affiliate tracking is enabled.
- Retailers — no affiliate links, tracking, or product data are enabled.
Purchases always complete on the provider's own checkout, under their terms and privacy practices. We never handle payment.
Changes
When commercial links go live, this page will say so and name the programmes involved.
